In our community, we tackle cancer as a team. The Lombardi Walk to Tackle Cancer-Washington County event is a great way to show your support, honor those we’ve lost, and celebrate hope for those who have been touched by cancer in our community. While there is no charge to join the walk, all attendees are encouraged to raise funds to help advance cancer care in Washington County.
Your support will help those facing cancer receive more than the clinical expertise they’ve come to expect from the Aurora’s Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic. Your gift will improve and expand the patient experience by offering new integrative medicine programs-- such as massage, aroma and art therapy– that can provide comfort during treatment while helping people focus on healing. You will create new ways to help cancer survivors connect and thrive through survivorship care plans, and help connect more people to clinical trials and cutting-edge cancer research– all close to home.
Join us and walk with survivors; honor those we’ve lost; and help raise funds to help more people in Washington County beat this disease.
Dollars raised from this event are eligible to receive matching funds from the Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation.

Recruit and engage your family, neighbors and co-workers to join your efforts to tackle cancer in Washington County, by honoring those who have been touched by cancer.
- Recruit and Register 10-15 team members
- Encourage team members to make a personal donation or fundraise $50.00 to obtain their exclusive Lombardi Walk to Tackle Cancer t-shirt.
- Have Fun!
There are numerous ways your place of employment, church, club, team or salon can get involved.
- Monetary: Walk Station, Medical Milestone, Route Sign
- Underwrite or In-kind: Provide your photographer skills, event DJ, provide walking water, signage needs, banking expertise and more!
- Registration: Check in and collect pledges as walkers arrive
- Greeters & Route Guides: Welcome and direct walkers
- Survivorship Tent: Assist with survivor and caregiver activities and check in
- Kid Zone: Supervise the bounce house and other kids activities!
- Rest Stop: Hand out snacks and drinking water
- Set Up/Down and Parking: Assist with set up/take down or direct parking
- Start & Finish Line: Celebrate and cheer walkers
